EXTRA MILE:
Many drummers simply show up, set up their drums, play the gig
and go home. Take pride in your work and "go the extra mile".
Carry the bass player's rig in for him, make a set list for the
band, or show up 15 minutes earlier to help out. School band students
can help the teacher in the band room or offer their services
for a special concert or field event.
Anyone
can just show up and play their drums, but those that put in a
little extra are more valued as a "team player". This
often increases your job stability and overall reputation in the
industry and sometimes even means extra compensation. The main
thing is that you feel better about yourself for giving more in
this world and that's reason enough to make the change!
